A Call To Arms
So I briefed my dad today about my likes/dislikes for particular fields in the Navy. Being that he served 22 years as a Marine (oops, once a Marine; always a Marine) so he is a good person to bounce things off of. He called me a green something or another in reference to people the military is recruiting. He also said that the drill instructor will probably not like me displaying that grin that I sometimes possess. I told him that if I am ever caught making that grin that I will tell them that I am happy to being in boot camp. He then warned that if I do that I may be finding myself running 5 miles.
It was an insightful conversation today and I am glad I took a few minutes picking his brain so that I know a little more on what to expect. It was just nice talking with him today and not hurrying to get off the phone. It was a little but more of me breaking down that wall to the outside and letting a little light shine in.
